snowfall
Snow.
-noun.
snowflakes, snowfall, white stuff; snowdrift, snowbank, snowpack; avalanche.
I've been wishing for snow lately. Christmas lights are up, holiday ballads are playing, shoppers are shopping, chestnuts are roasting, and peppermint ice cream is finally available in the stores. The only thing that was missing was the white stuff on the ground. It really doesn't feel like a Utah Christmas until it snows!
Until, yesterday. I woke up to a winter wonderland outside. I looked out my window and saw every car covered. Every tree branch was limp with mounds of white on them. There wasn't a spot on the ground that wasn't covered with flakes. I was so happy!
Now it's today. I woke up a half hour earlier than normal to dig my car out that was hidden under a pile of frozen precipitation. By the time I was finished my hands were frozen and my boots full of snow. The roads were bad. I slipped and slided on my 20 minute drive to work that use to take me 7 minutes.
It's been two days and I'm already over it. Give me an Arizona winter! It's 68 degrees there today. Perfect weather for a light jacket and flip flops. It's 22 degrees here in Utah. :(
See you in two weeks, Arizona. I'm counting down the days.
I'm so over the cold. ughhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Dessert Love
Thanks to my wonderful friends Patrick and Jordan, I have a new favorite sweet spot-Gourmandise in Salt Lake City. Just take a look at the giant cream puff! (Or as Jason and I like to call it "le creme", cuz that sounds much more fancy). It tastes like sweet succulent heaven. The bakery is so adorable too! Every trip we make to SLC now, Gourmandise is a must stop. My mouth is watering just looking at these pictures. Delish!

Great Books=Great Christmas Gifts
I just finished Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. I laughed, I cried, but most importantly it pulled on my heart-strings. I would highly recommend it. Buy one for yourself and another to have on hand. It would make the most perfect present! ( Go here for abouts and reviews.)

Flying
I just might be in love with this photo. There is so much tranquility and calmness to it. I often have this recurring dream where I'm flying. I run as fast as I can and jump into the air with both arms stretched out. When I begin to fall, I swim my way back up until I'm soaring again. This photo makes me want my dream to come true so much more.

New Moon Alert
Well I saw it. Did I love it? Am I freaking out like everyone else on facebook and in the blog-world? No. But did I enjoy it? Yes.
I'll admit it, I've read all the books. Don't get me wrong they are a fun and easy read but not life changing. Of all four publications, New Moon was my least favorite. I'm sorry but Jacob just rub's me the wrong way. Back off on Bella, son. She's spoken for.
This film had a much bigger budget which was nice. And as Jason said, "the fight scene's were pretty cool." (That was all i could get out of him when I asked if he liked it.) Overall, I really enjoyed it but it wasn't something I was willing to wait in line for to see the midnight showing. But you know who was willing to do that? My mother. ha. She is a twilight fanatic. She's read the books, had a big party when the first movie came out on DVD, and was first in line to not only see New Moon at Midnight, but Twilight at 9:30 before. Gotta love Pammy. That woman is unstoppable.
I will say though, the eye candy in the movie wasn't half bad....
If I HAD to pick a team then team Edward. ;)

I wanna look like this-
J.Crew has done it again
You all know my weakness. I've blogged about it time and time again. I have an obsession with J.Crew. There I said it. I LOVE IT! Their style is simple chic and most of all classic. They have everything from handbags to headbands, wedding attire to children's shoes. It's a one stop shop if you ask me. Their stylists really know how to polish up any outfit. Their simple apparel always has that little something extra to it. Whether it be glitter, feathers, brooches, beads or oversized flowers, J.Crew is ready to dress you for any and all occasions. I am delighted about their 2009 catalog that recently came out. It was love at first sight....
Jason, Mom, Santa Claus-any of these will do.
xoxo,
Gerberbaby
slevedge chambray shirt. I've been wanting this little beauty for quite some time.
vintage matchstick cord. One in every color will do...
A great pair of weather boots. A MUST while living in frosty weather.
Every girl needs a top-notch cardigan. For those of you who are cold blooded like me, I'd wear one of these any month of the year!
Vintage tall roadster boots. Yes Please.

Polaroid Frenzy
Thank you tartraz for blogging about this! I am mildly obsessed.
I wish so badly that polaroid would continue making film for these beloved cameras. Don't get me wrong, this new era of digital photography is easy, convenient and most of all genius, but there is something special about the speedy print of a polaroid picture. The white frame around the photo is a timeless classic. I cross my fingers and toes that this article will soon become reality! (for those of you not interested in reading it, some peeps are trying to keep polaroid film alive.) But for now, I am going to enjoy the new program above and digitally turn my photos into polaroid copycats.

I.G.F.
For the majority out there who don't know what I.G.F. stands for, let me tell you....it means "I'm Grateful For". Some friends and I made this up long ago and it has yet to go away. It's just a fun way for us to name what we've been grateful for! Lately I've been thinking about all the things I appreciate so much in my life. I really, truly, sincerely can say that I feel so incredibly blessed! I love days like this. I love feeling infinite love for those people in my life who are so dear to me. I'm a lucky girl. So let me let you in on a few "IGF's" in my life- IGF the people around me who make me the utmost happy. IGF days where I feel on top of the world. IGF great food. (I'm a taurus, we appreciate fine taste.) IGF laughter. IGF family. IGF Jason (you knew that one was coming.) IGF my little Danni who I get to spend time with everyday. IGF fall weather. IGF J.Crew (oopsies). IGF all the fun blogs that I adore. IGF photographs. Ugh, the list just goes on and on. I guess this is a great time to be thinking about the things that I am grateful for with Thanksgiving quickly approaching. What are some of your I.G.F's??? I would love to know!
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the last month that I thought I'd share. Enjoy!

My little, bigger brother.
For those of you who do not know my little brother Alex, I highly suggest that you meet him sometime in your life. I've been thinking a lot about him today and how he is truly one of my very best friends. Lucky for me, he's my brother! He may not look it, but yes, he is 2 years younger then me. He's 6'5" and can grow a beard like it's no one's business. There are so many things that I love about this kid. Because I am in such a good mood right now, I will name a few:
1. Alex can quote movies better then anyone I know. We could probably carry on an entire conversation made up entirely of movie quotes.
2. He is an AMAZING musician. He plays the bass for a band called Miniature Tigers. If you haven't heard of them then you're missing out. Go here. Now.
3. Alex is incredibly intelligent. He buys me the best books for Christmas. He fortunate to be not only book smart but street smart too. He's really REALLY great to talk to.
4. He is a great traveler! The lucky boy has toured all over the country, visited Japan, and backpacked New Zealand for a few months.
5. He's a sports guy. He's plays, but mostly watches. :) He is very knowledgeable in this area.
6. Alex is very generous. He's there to give a helping hand whenever he can. He's a great friend. He loves everyone he meets and it's incredibly obvious when you get to know him.
7. Not only is he a talented musician, but he has great taste in music too! He is my go-to-guy when I need new tunes to listen too.
8. He hangs out with me when I visit home. I don't go home often enough but when I do, he's the person I am most excited to see. No one can make me laugh like him.
9. Alex is a movie expert. He likes a very wide range of movies. I trust his opinion when it comes to what I should see.
10. He loves his sister (me).
To sum it all up, Alex RULES. He is such an amazing person. He is everything you would want in a friend, and lucky for me, a brother.
Here are a few pictures of my lil' bro. Enjoy.

Rules for My Unborn Son
A big thanks to my very favorite blog, Cup of Jo for her post on the fabulous book, Rules for My Unborn Son by Walker Lamond. His book includes 1001 tips on how to be an extraordinary and significant man. This is inspirational for men and not to mention mothers who want to raise a bona fide son! To see a few of these rules check out Walker's blog here. The book comes out October 27. You can bet your boots that it will be the newest edition on my bookshelf!

The Hogle Zoo!
Today and tomorrow is October break for the kids I nanny. The forecast read, sunny and in the high 60's so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take the kiddo's to the zoo! Jason was kind enough to tag along and help keep tab's on these little munchkins. It was such a fun day! I'd love to go again before the weather gets terribly cold and gloomy...
